Tales of the Tempest - Skits

This is a complete list of all sixty skits available in Tales of the Tempest. All skits have been taken from Absolute Zero's translation patch for the game, which you should totally check out.

-

Skits are accessed by using a Tent item on the world map. Tents can be bought from item shops for 750G or can be dropped by human enemies, such as thieves. Tents cannot restore health and are instead used for the purpose of viewing skits and to change the time of day.

Words in bold indicate where you have to be in order to be able to view the skit. In some cases, you will have to leave any cities and towns you're inside of so you can use a Tent and avoid missing the skit.
Words in italics show the number of the skit. The skits are not named in game, instead their names can be found in the Tempest Complete and Perfect guides. The names are essentially the first line of the skit, so if Caius says 'I'm bored' then the skit is likely named 'Caius is bored/I'm bored'.
'- Repeat' means you will continue to see the same skit when you use a Tent until you move on to the next area. They mostly act as reminders, telling you where to go next. Some 'Repeat' skits will cut the skit short when viewed multiple times, removing party interactions save for reminding you where to go next.
'- Forced' means the skit will happen automatically once you reach a certain point on the world map. They cannot be avoided and don't take up a Tent.
'- Day/Night' means the skit changes based on what time you use the Tent. Both versions of the skit will be shown, the day version first and then the night.
'☀ or ☃' means the skit will only play in certain areas. Skits marked with ☀ will only play if you try to watch them in the desert. Skits marked with ☃ will only play if you try to watch them in the snow.

Between leaving the Abandoned Cabin and returning to Fern
ONE - Repeat
What am I doing camping out here?
I need to get back to Fern as fast as I can! I'm worried about Dad...

Following Rubia to Nals from Fern
TWO - Forced
It's still a good ways to Nals. I better rest up.
-
I'm beat, I better pitch camp here.
If I ever want to set up camp, I can always use a Tent.
If I camp at night, I can avoid dealing with all the dangerous monsters that come out at night.
If I camp at midday, I can wait until night to travel.
I might even find treasures I couldn't see during the day.
Remember that! Wait... Who am I talking to?
I hope I'm not going crazy, talking to myself like this...
If I was traveling with friends, this would be a great chance to talk...
And I could make sure I knew where I was going in case I got lost.
It's pretty boring traveling alone...
Man, where's Rubia when you need her?
How could she take off on her own like that!?
How does she move so fast in that crazy flower skirt thing of hers anyway!?
Guess complaining to myself isn't going to help much...
After I rest up a bit more, I better get moving. Hang in there, Dad...

THREE
Here I am camping alone again...
I need to head for Nals. It should be south of Fern.
Rubia is planning to get on a ship there.
After a quick break, I really need to get moving!

Between Nals and heading to the Black Forest
FOUR
Say, Caius... What's going to become of us?
What's going to become of us? No idea.
But we know what we have to do, right?
We'll go to Janna, get revenge for your parents, and save my dad...
Right?
I guess so...
But we can't go back to the village and we don't even know if we can beat those two masked people...
Aren't you worried?
Of course I'm worried. But we still gotta do it.
That's true... We have to do it.
So, let's head for Janna. Together.
Right.

FIVE
The Black Forest is famous for being full of the undead, right?
Yeah. I heard skeletons and other creatures come out at night.
Since he was a priest, Father came here many times to lay the skeletons to rest.
The undead are like walking corpses, right?
Whose corpses are they anyway?
There are ancient ruins in the middle of the forest.
Supposedly the undead once lived there.
Wait, how many of these things are we talking about?
Whenever caravans were attacked in the forest, you dad would lay them to rest, right?
Are there even any undead left?
Whenever people are killed by the undead in the forest, they would become undead themselves.
And even if you defeat the undead, they start moving again after a while.
So, they're just going to keep coming back forever?
Don't worry, Little Caius, I'll hold your hand if you're scared of the ghosts.
I'm not scared anymore!
Not all of us are undead fangirls like you!
Who are you calling an undead fangirl!?
Hmph!
All joking aside, it's dangerous to enter the forest at night.
If we have to pass though, we should do it during the day.

SIX
Rubia, what's wrong?
Nothing, really...
I was just thinking about Father and Mother...
Oh.
You know, I think your parents would be happy just knowing you're alive and well.
How would you know?
Huh?
How would you know how my dead parents feel!?
I-I didn't...
I'm sorry...
I know you're trying to cheer me up.
I understand that...
Your father was taken away as well.
Don't worry about it.
Right, now, all we can do is keep moving.
Let's bust our way through the Black Forest.

SEVEN - Repeat
Caius, we need to hurry to the Black Forest.
The Black Forest is north of Fern, right?
That's right. At night, the undead come out, so it's best to enter the forest during the day.
All right. We'll plan to head in tomorrow then.

Between the Black Forest and heading to Leda
EIGHT
As we talked about before, let's go to Leda. It isn't far from the Black Forest.
We'll make preperations to travel to Janna there.
Lord Tilkis, this will be the first city we've seen in some time.
Yeah. It's been nothing but boats and camping since we left Senshibia.
I can hardly wait to sleep in a bed.
You guys came from an island to the west, right?
Yeah. The nation of Senshibia.
It isn't far, but the trip isn't an easy one.
We've had a hard time just getting this far.
Especially since you insisted we leave without having time to make any preperations.
W-We had to move fast.
Our people are in imminent danger, after all.
Hehe. Boys sure do love to move before they think.
Caius always flies everywhere by the seat of his pants.
Like you have any room to talk when you just up and ran away!
Hey!
Hahaha. You two really are close.

NINE - Repeat
We should hurry to Leda.
We have to get ready for the next leg of the journey to Janna.
Sounds good.

Between Leda and heading to Janna
TEN - Forced
Seems like it's still a long way to Janna. Let's take a break.
-
So, Caius...
What is it, Tilkis?
You two are lovers, aren't you?
This is a dangerous journey.
If you weren't, I can't imagine why you'd travel together.
What are you talking about!? We're not going out!
Really? You aren't brother and sister, right?
I have a hard time imagining you as anything other than lovers.
Goodness, no, Dear Brother!
Im traveling with Caius because there are no other boys in the village around our age!
First of all, I haven't fallen so far that I would go out with Caius!
What do you mean, fallen!?
I'd have to fall and hit my head before I'd go out with you!
Well, it follows, doesn't it?
If it weren't for me teaching you, you wouldn't even be able to read!
What'd you say!?
I think that's quite enough.
I understand Caius' reason, but what brought Rubia here?
I don't think... It's my place to say.
My father was the village priest, but... He was killed by the Inquisitors...
Mother as well...
I'm going to Janna for vengeance.
So, that was it...
My apologies...
Please don't worry about it.
I think I should get to sleep...
It seems we've reopened an old wound...
Rubia knows you didn't mean to hurt her.
She can't just forget something like that...
Her parents said they were counting on me.
That's why I'm going to protect her no matter what.

ELEVEN
Dear Brother, today sure is cold, isn't it?
Indeed it is, Rubia.
The fire is stronger on this side. Why don't you come over here?
You're too kind, Dear Brother. ❤
You can drop the sibling act now that we're out of Leda, you know.
Why would we want to do that?
I've always wanted a wonderful older brother like Tilkis.
Right, Dear Brother? ❤
Hmph! Whatever!
Caius, jealousy won't get you anywhere.
Why don't you try to appeal to Rubia instead?
W-Why should I have to do something like that!?
You almost make it sounds like there's something between Rubia and me...
What about me?
F-Forget it!
Caius can be such a child sometimes...

TWELVE
Tilkis, those black monsters showed up in your country too, right?
They appeared in our village too.
You said the Church summoned them, but what the heck are they?
I'm not sure. They attack people, but they don't eat us.
They look like shadows and they disappear without a trace when you defeat them.
It's not even clear if they're sentient creatures.
That's why we need to go to Janna.
The Church calls Janna home. That's the place to go if we want to learn more.
The Church...
My dad is there too. I have to save him!
Caius, don't be reckless.
The Church isn't the only threat in Janna.
Its protected by the Black Knights as well.
Plus...
I know of a man who once attempted to challenge Janna.
His attempt ended in tragedy. I would hate to see you meet the same end...
What happened in Janna, Forest?
I'm sure he'll tell you one day, Rubia.
Can I ask you to wait until he's willing?
Of course, Dear Brother.

THIRTEEN
Forest, I wanted to ask you something about the Lycanth- I mean, the Leimorneans.
Sure. I'll be happy to answe if I can.
Is the only difference between humans and Leimorneans the ability to transform into a beast?
Leimornean culture had advanced far beyond human culture, so intellectually, there may be other differences.
Of course, there's no evidence to support that theory.
Because Leimorneans can transform, tasks like construction or other physical labors were easy.
Because we could focus our attention on other matters, our culture advanced faster than the humans.
That much I believe to be true.
I agree
When that bridge collapsed in Senshibia, Forest-
Lord Tilkis.
R-Right, sorry.
Is something wrong, Dear Brother?
Well, you know...
In any case, the Leimorneans had the means to easily accomplish great things both culturally and militarily.
At least, that's one way of looking at it.
Hmm...

FOURTEEN - Repeat
Now, we need to press on toward Janna.
Sounds good.
Janna is north of Leda, right?
Yes, that's right. It's a large city.
It's going to take some time to investigate once we arrive.
We should avoid wasting any time in getting there.
I agree. Once we're ready, we should leave right away.

Between arriving at Janna and going to the cathedral
FIFTEEN - Repeat
Caius?
Shouldn't we try to figure out where they took your father as soon as possible? If we don't hurry...
I know that!
I know, but when I start thinking about what would happen if we didn't make it...
I know how you feel, but we won't get anywhere just laying around.
We need to explore Janna. The sooner, the better.
Yeah, you're right. Sorry about that, Rubia...

Between going to the cathedral and going to the docks
SIXTEEN - Repeat
.........
Caius...
If only I'd got there sooner...
I know you're blaming yourself.
But you've already granted your father's dearest wish.
Wish?
For you to be alive and well.
He may not be your real father, but he realy loves you like one.
I'm sure there's nothing he wants more than for you to be safe and sound.
So, please, try to keep your spirits up.
When you're down, I...
You're right.
Let's head back to the inn and meet up with Tilkis and Forest.
Good idea.

Between Forest being captured and going to the sewers
SEVENTEEN - Day/Night
Let's rest rest up and wait for nightfall.
At this time of day, they'll still be keeping watch.
That's true. There will be a lot of people around too.
We're the only ones who can save Forest.
I'm worried about him, but we have to play it safe.
Forest... Please be okay...
/
What's wrong?
We aren't going to save Forest by sitting around here.
I know, but if we rush right in, the guards will probably still be on full alert.
You want them to think we left Forest behind and ran away?
Yeah.
Remember, the Knights are still after us.
We've gotta be careful or we'll end up being sorry we weren't.
That's true. I suppose we'll have to be patient then.
But don't forget what's on the line.
Forest's life is in our hands!

Scene after the first fight with Rommy
This scene isn't counted as a skit, but it's pretty important and one of my favourite scenes in the game!
Have you calmed down, Caius?
...
I wonder what happened to the others after we got separated.
...
Why don't we go look for them?
Nothing is going to change if we just sit here.
Now come on, you need to pick yourself up.
I'm sure that's what your father would have wanted.
What would you know?
What the hell would you know Arria!?
...
I loved my dad.
Even when I found out he wasn't my real dad, that didn't change.
Even though I loved him, I'm the one who hurt him!
When I became a beast, I didn't feel anything...
All I was thinking about was battle...
That's how I know I have the heart of a beast...
Even if we find the others, that won't change.
Even if my dad is dead, I'm still a Lycanth.
That's right. Nothing has changed.
You are still Caius.
Being a Leimornean doesn't change who you are.
Or are you saying you're no longer the boy who loved his father?
...
You are Caius.
And you will always by Caius.
What is it you want to do?
Where is it you want to go?
You're still the same Caius who cared so deeply about his friends.
You have to decide for yourself what to do next.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
How about it? Can you take that first step?
Arria... What should I do now?
First, let's search for the others.
We all got swept away by the river, but they should have washed up near us.
Where are we, anyway?
The river that runs through Janna passes by the city of Yaska.
Which means... we should be somewhere between Janna and Yaska.
Yaska is to the west.
And Janna is to the east, right?
Right. Should we try Yaska first?
I'm sure the others are fine. They're probably looking for us too.
Yeah...
...
Arria.
Yes?
Sorry for what I said before...
You don't need to worry about that.
Let's be on our way.

Between fighting Rommy and heading to Yaska
EIGHTEEN - Forced
Dad...
Caius, I had a friend who lost his parents when he was young.
Arria...
His family was banished from Janna and they ended up in a small northern village.
His parents never adapted to their new lifestyle and passed away before long.
But he never gave up hope.
He swore he would live a life full enough for all three of them and worked toward it.
What happened to him?
He returned to Janna and accomplished things many people would have thought impossible.
His parents would have been amazed.
Really?
I know losing your father is really hard on you.
But you still have your whole life ahead of you.
Don't forget that.
Yeah...
Sorry, I didn't mean to keep you up so late.
I guess it is kinda late... Do you mind if I turn in?
I'm feeling kinda tired all of a sudden.
You deserve some rest, Caius.
...
Sometimes success can be a curse in disguise...

NINETEEN
Caius.
?
Before ya ask'a, we're headed for Yaska.
Huh!? W-Was that a joke?
W-Was it stupid?
I'm sorry!
You just seemed so down, so I hoped it might cheer you up!
You see, I took the name of Yaska and then turned it into "ya ask"...
I'm sorry it wasn't more entertaining.
Yeah, no, I got it.
It's just... it was kinda...
I mean, no, it was great!
I'm feeling a bit better! Now let's head for Yaska!
Thank goodness... So, you liked it?
If I come up with any others, I will be sure to let you know.
Perhaps I have a hidden talent for csomedy!
I-I can hardly wait...

TWENTY - Repeat
We should travel west to Yaska.
Someone there may know where Rubia and the others went.
I am sure they are trying to find us as well.
What's Yaska like?
It is a famous port.
Goods to both Northgate, which holds back the ogres, and Eastgate, near the Leimorne Desert, travel through it.
It is a crucial hub in the supply line.
Wow. Must be a pretty big city then, huh?
Indeed.
It doesn't compare to Janna, but we should be able to replenish our supplies there.

Between Yaska and heading to Northgate
TWENTY-ONE - Forced
You guys about ready for a break?
-
The Law of Life is supposed to be able to bring back the dead, right?
That is what they say, but we have no way of knowing for sure...
But countless people have been sacrificed to complete it.
If it's supposed to heal, why do so many people have to die for it?
No kidding.
Dad ended up being sacrificed to the Law of Life too.
It's all their fault...
Arria.
What are those Inquisitors - Rommy and Lukius - like?
They are the youngest of the Inquisitors.
They are about the same age as you two.
But they say that among the Inquisitors, their abilities are second to none.
His Holiness has complete faith in them.
I can't believe they do all that horrible stuff when they're the same age as us...
It's messed up!
Lukius and Rommy didn't used to be like that.
I am told they were just kind, cute little kids...
Just like the two of you.
You think Rubia is cute? I think you need to get your eyes checked.
You're the one who needs to get your eyes checked!
I've always been cute. You're just too dense to notice it!
Why don't we save that for later?
In other words, something changed Lukius and Rommy...
That would seem to be the case.
But what could have caused such a drastic change?
I am afraid I do not have the answer.
Hmm...
I need to excuse myself.

TWENTY-TWO
I think we're all a little tired.
It's important to get our rest and recover when we can.
Well said, Dear Brother. ❤
I must excuse myself.
Arria, you seem to be stepping out a lot lately. Is everything okay?
No, it's just... Well...
I was wondering about that too.
U-Um...
Goodness, Caius! And you too, Dear Brother!
If she's excusing herself, it's obviously something she doesn't want to say!
It's rude to ask a lady about that kind of stuff!
O-Oh! Sorry, Arria.
My bad.
Thank you, Rubia.
...
But I don't get it. What's so hard to say?

TWENTY-THREE
What do you say to a little practice battle, Caius?
It's important to train and prepare for the worst case.
But there are monsters all over the place.
It won't be long before practice becomes a real battle.
Let's do something more fun for a change.
Hrm...
How about a word game like shiritori then? The last letter of the previous word is the first letter of yours.
Shiritori?
Fine by me.
Rubia hates losing, so I doubt she'll play.
That's not true! Let's play!
That sounssds like fun.
Very well.
Then let's start.
We'll go clockwise starting with me.
"Senshibia" - my homeland.
Hmm... I'll go with "Arria."
Another A word... That's tough.
Well, I guess I'll go with "Albert".
I really wish I didn't have to, but whatever.
I have T, then.
Taster...
Taster? What does that mean?
I was thinking about making some Pork Miso Soup later, but I need a volunteer taster.
R, then? How about "Rubia"?
A again? Can I use "Arria"?
You can't use the same word twice. That means Tilkis loses.
Guess we better start packing up.
Yes, we should get moving pretty soon.
I suppose we should end the games here for today.
Hey, I haven't given up yet! You can't just quit!
There isn't much meaning in playing without other players.
Lord Tilkis, sometimes a man just has to accept his losses and move on.
I'll show you all!
I'll win next time! And don't you forget it!
-You obtained the Pork Miso Soup Recipe!-

TWENTY-FOUR - Repeat
We have little choice but to visit the Leimorne to learn more about the Law of Life.
We have a long journey ahead of us. After we resupply, we need to make for Northgate.
I guess if it's called Northgate, it must be north, right?
Yes.
Next we need to pass through Eastgate and make for the desert.
So, our first destination is Northgate.
The Church and the Knights may already be on our tails. We should hurry!
Zzz.
...

Between fighting Albert on the bridge and heading to Northgate
TWENTY-FIVE - Forced
We've still got a ways to go. Better rest up now.
-
Man, I'm bored.
I don't have time to be bored.
Arria has been teaching me all about the Precepts.
What are Precepts anyway?
Are they different than magic?
Precept is the formal name for magic.
We utilize specialized incantations to harness the energy in the air.
Huh... Cool.
They say the Leimorneans originally developed the technique.
The first time humans witnessed the Precepts, they didn't understand them and called it magic.
Interesting.
Of course, I still don't understand them even now.
Just listening to this stuff is giving me a headache.
Studying's just not for me!

TWENTY-SIX
That stupid Black Knight thinks he's so high and mighty!
You said it!
Anyone who cares that much about their rank can't have any self-confidence.
I bet all he ever thinks about is work!
I was looking at his sword during the fight.
It was covered in all these decorations and jewels and stuff.
A sword is made to cut, but all he was thinking about was how it looks.
Talk about shallow!
You two are relentless today. All things in moderation.
I do think you might be more convincing if you weren't laughing, Lord Tilkis.
Shall we leave it at that, then?
While he may have been our enemy, no good comes from speaking ill of others.
Rubia, as a daughter of the Church, you especially should be mindful of your words.
Yes ma'am.
Yeah... You're right, Arria.
Hmm... Something seems a bit off...
What's wrong?
It's nothing. I hope...

TWENTY-SEVEN
We first met in the Black Forest, but how did you get there from Senshibia?
I mean, we know you snuck in...
Oh, you want to hear the story? Let me tell you all about it.
I'll have to start back from our departure.
First, since we intended to sneak into Aurella, we couldn't use a Senshibian flagged ship.
So, we decided to use a rowboat.
A rowboat!?
When I escaped from Janna, I fled in a rowboat.
At the time, I was pursued by both the Knights and the Church. I didn't have time to be picky.
Impossible though it may seem, somehow I managed to make it through.
And I happened to mention that to Lord Tilkis at one point...
Of course, I never imagined mentioning it would force me to repeat the ordeal...
I planned to meet a merchant ship along the way and travel with them.
But somehow we ended up aboard a pirate ship instead.
I tell you, it was quite the ordeal.
If you had mentioned you were a prince, we could have simply bribed our way out of it...
Forest, is Tilkis always putting you through these ordeals?
Of course not.
I took down the leader of the pirates myself!
I had to deal with all the rest of them...
Did you?
......
Well, at least we managed to obtain a larger ship because of it.
Of course, then we were caught in a storm and shipwrecked.
It's just one disaster after another!
Thankfully we were picked up by a fishing boat and ended up landing at Nals.
There was a ship scheduled from Nals to Janna, but we might have been discovered.
That's why we made our way to the Black Forest, where we ran into you two.
It was a tough journey.
I couldn't agree more.
Hahaha. Sorry for the trouble, Forest.
Of course, as tough as that little ordeal was, the real adventure started after we met you.
That's not true! You're amazing! Some day I want to have a grand adventure on the high seas too!

TWENTY-EIGHT - Repeat
That Black Knight, Albert, seemed pretty set on catching us.
We should hurry to Northgate before he comes after us.
You're right. We better hurry.

Between Northgate and heading to Eastgate
TWENTY-NINE
So, Dear Brother... Do you have a girlfriend?
But of course! I have 5, no, 10 of them!
The Senshibian ladies can't keep their hands off me!
W-Wow! That's a prince for you.
Caius, you shouldn't take him at his word.
You sure are popular, Tilkis.
Now I think about it, maybe they're not quite girlfriends...
They're female friends at most.
Most women are only interested in me because I'm a prince.
What I want is a partner who sees me for who I really am.
Really...
By the way, do you have a boyfriend, Arria?
You're really pretty, so I'm sure lots of men must be interested in you, right?
The only boy I'm close to is Caius... I guess he'll technically be a man some day...
Gee, so sorry I don't make the cut!
That isn't true, Rubia. I've never been very popular.
Huh? So, you don't have a boyfriend!?
You don't!?
No, I don't...
Interesting reactions all around...

THIRTY
Albert's Black Knights were in charge of protecting Janna, right?
What about the other knights? Who protects Northgate?
The Blue Knights defend Northgate.
Since they often face ogres in battle, many gallant knights fill their ranks.
They are also in charge of defending Eastgate.
They are by the far the largest of the Knight Brigades.
Mount Arel is also nearby. It is guarded by the Royal Knights.
They are also known as the White Knights.
Huh.
So, how do you become a knight anyway?
Everybody in my village looked up to the Knights.
The selection process is quite competitive, but everyone has an equal chance.
To the poor living in Aurella, it is one of the few paths to a better future.
That's certainly true...
Traditionally, the Archduke is the only one that can unify the Knight Brigades.
But based on what we heard from Albert, it seems they're all under his command now.
In spite of that, we didn't have any problem at Northgate.
Meaning Albert only recently took command and doesn't have full control yet.
I think it's best we waste no time in putting Eastgate behind us.
Good point.
Well, when we all work together, there's nothing that can stand in our way.
You're always so composed, Dear Brother. ❤
What the heck? You're always giving me a hard time for charging in without a plan...

THIRTY-ONE - Repeat
If we're going to make it to Leimorne, we have to go through Eastgate.
I wish we could keep our distance from the Knights, but Eastgate is the only way through.
It may be dangerous, but unlike when I escaped Fern, I'm not alone.
It'll all work out.
That's true. I believe in all of you.

Scene after Caius transforms in front of Rubia
Again, not a skit. But still pretty important plot wise!
Mmm... Huh?
Where... am I?
What happened?
Welcome back, Caius.
You've been out for quite a while.
I transformed again, didn't I?
But why did it happen now?
I haven't transformed since Dad died...
What's happening to my body? Why can't I remember much of what happened during the battle?
What if the next time I transform, I attack you guys?
Just like Dad did... back then...
Caius, don't worry.
You're just beginning to awaken as a Leimornean.
That's why you can't control the power yet. I'll teach you little by little.
I don't know why your power hasn't manifested itself until now.
But don't be ashamed of your Leimornean heritage.
No matter what form you take, you are still Caius.
Exactly.
Leimornean or not, it doesn't change the fact that you're here, living your life.
Thanks, Tilkis, Forest...
Where are you going, Rubia?
It's dangerous to wander off too far.
I'll be okay.
I'm just going to get a little fresh air.
I won't go far.
Okay... Be careful. Shout if anything happens.
Caius is a Lycanth... Caius is... a Leimornean...
Watching him fight like that was terrifying.
Incredible, inhuman power...
I don't know how to face Caius any more...
Rubia, let's head back. The others will get worried.
Huh!?
Oh, right. I'm sorry.
I'll go now.
What's wrong? You don't seem like yourself?
It's nothing.
More importantly, are you okay?
Me? I'm just fine...
Caius... I... I...
Hmm?
It's nothing.
Let's head back.

Between fighting Rommy and heading to Eastgate
THIRTY-TWO - Repeat
Let's get through Eastgate quickly. Leimorne isn't far now.
Agreed. Rommy could attack again at any time.
...
Deserts are hot and full of sand, right? Shouldn't we be preparing for that?
Normally, yes. But the Leimorne Desert was an unnatural byproduct of the Beast War.
It is covered in sand, but it isn't all that hot.
Really? Then I guess we're fine with our current gear.
Let's hurry across the desert to Leimorne.

Between Eastgate and heading to Laurus
THIRTY-THREE - Forced
(Take this with a grain of salt. Multiple people are shown transforming at will throughout the game, Forest included.)
Forest, could you teach me more about transforming?
-
Caius, I'd like to explain our beast form to you.
Please do.
We Leimorneans can gain incredible power by transforming into beasts in battle.
Our strength greatly increases and enemies crumble under our blows.
However, we can't transform at will.
Transforming requires our HP to be below 50% and consumes 80 TP.
In other words, it's a last resort when you find yourself up against a wall.
When you find yourself in that desperate situation, you'll feel something change within you.
When you do, unleash that feeling.
But when you transform, your TP will begin to drain. When it reaches 0, you'll revert to human form, so be mindful of that.
And there's one last thing I should mention...
The transformation is so powerful that at times it may overwhelm you, causing you to rampage out of control.
It's dangerous for anyone but another Leimornean to try and put a stop to it.
So, Caius...
We should avoid transforming at the same.
I want you to promise me.
Okay, I promise.
-Caius learned Beast Transformation!-

THIRTY-FOUR
!
Did you see something in the desert?
!
Something did catch my eye.
?
Really? I didn't see anything...
Strange, I could've sworn... Oh! There! There's someone there!
I saw it too! It was kind of floating along!
Hmm...
You may have seen a ghost.
A ghost!? Really? How frightening!
You seem pretty excited, Rubia...
But do ghosts really exist?
Countless Leimorneans died in this desert during the Beast War.
I wouldn't be surprised if a ghost or two still haunted this desert.
...
M-Maybe I'll just wait on the edge of the desert for you...
Caius has been afraid of ghosts since he was a little kid.
Oh, I'm scared too, of course.
Protect me, Dear Brother! ❤
Girls sure do love their scary stories.
I wouldn't say I love them, but I have always been attuned to the spiritual.
There are five Leimornean souls beside us even now...
Eeek! ❤
Y-You're not serious, right? I can't take any more of this...
I managed to deal with the skeletons in the Black Forest, but this is too much...
Don't worry.
These spirits mean us no harm.
That's really not helping...
As long as they aren't going to mess with us, we're fine.
Shake it off, Caius.
I'm already shaking plenty as it is!

THIRTY-FIVE - Repeat
Where are the Leimorne ruins?
This desert is huge and the sandtorms make it hard to see very far.
I believe it is in the center of the desert.
What makes you say that?
The records of the Beast War speak of the ruined capital at the heart of the devastation.
Then it would make sense for the ruins to be in the middle of the desert.
Good thinking.
When we've rested up, let's search the middle of the desert for the city.

After entering Leimorne
THIRTY-SIX - Repeat
We didn't really learn much about the Law of Life at Leimorne, did we?
If we could find a library, we might learn something, but...
We haven't searched the whole city yet. Let's try looking around again.
Caius, don't slack off now. We really need to look carefully.
I know that! You think you're so smart!
I'm only saying it for your sake!
Now, now, you two, no need to fight.

After fighting Lukius
Yup. Another scene that isn't a skit. My bad. I like transcribing things okay!?
Caius, have you made your decision?
Yeah...
I'll give it to them... I'll give them the Patient.
Is that really okay?
Yeah. I can't abandon Rubia.
We'll take the Patient back from the Pope ourselves!
That's true...
Even if they have the Patient, we can still prevent the Law of Life.
As long as you don't give up, I'm with you to the end.
What bothers me most is Lukius' face.
He looked almost identical to Caius...
Caius, do you have any thoughts on the matter?
No, I was just as surprised as you guys. Just who is he?
It does bother me, but right now we need to save Rubia, right?
Let's go, Caius.
Yeah. Let's go save Rubia!

Between Leimorne and heading to Eastgate
THIRTY-SEVEN
Tilkis, did you have something you wanted to talk about?
-
Rubia...
Can't sleep? You need to rest while you can.
I know, but...
You're worried about Rubia, right?
Of course I'm not!
Well... maybe a little bit.
I never thought something would get to me like this.
You each spent your whole life with the other by your side.
Sometimes that makes it hard to recognize your own feelings until you're apart.
I'm sure Rubia islonging to see you right now too.
You really think so?
I do.
Whenever Rubia and I would talk, it would always be about you.
That shows just how much she cares for you.
That's why you need to save her. If anyone can do it, you can.
Thanks, Tilkis.
Rubia is like a little sister to me. We're going to save her no matter what!
Yeah!

THIRTY-EIGHT - Repeat
Lukius said to meet him at Eastgate to get Rubia back.
I'd guess he'll be waiting for us near the entrance on the desert side.
I hope Rubia is safe...
She's being held as ransom for the Patient.
I'm sure they're keeping her alive at the very least.
Even so, we're dealing with the Inquisitors. We can't trust them!
I still can't believe Lukius looked exactly like Caius...
......
The only way to learn the truth is to get it from Lukius himself.
For now, it's best to just not think about it.

Between Eastgate and heading to Sansa
THIRTY-NINE - Forced
Huh? Rubia, what's wrong?
-
Leimorneans are terrifying monsters...
Even though Lukius is a Leimornean, that's what he said about them.
Why would he say something like that?
Caius has been my friend since we were little kids and Forest is a precious companion...
I just don't know what to believe any more...
Rubia, it's dangerous to be out here all alone.
Caius...
What's wrong?
That worried expression doesn't suit you.
How rude!
Even I worry over stuff sometimes!
Did Lukius say something to you?
Yeah...
Something you couldn't get out of your head, huh?
Caius, can I ask you a question?
What did you think when you found out you were a Leimornean?
...
Honestly, I couldn't believe it at first. I was like, "Why!?"
But at the same time, it was also kind of a relief.
Why?
At the very least, it meant I had a real connection with my dad. The one who raised me, I mean.
Dad had something he always used to say to me.
No matter how tough things get, you have to face them head on.
You can't run from reality.
You have to accept whatever life sends your way and keep on living.
Accept whatever life sends your way...
Even if I'm a Leimornean, it doesn't change the fact that I'm Caius Qualls.
I'll never stop being me.
I think my dad wanted to tell me to be proud of my Leimornean heritage.
Forest taught me the same thing.
I'm not saying transforming into a beast isn't terrifying to a human.
But you know what, Rubia? I'm still the same Caius.
At the very least, I hope you get that.
I get it what you're trying to say.
You know...
Maybe nobody ever told Lukius that.
If he really hates the Leimornean blood flowing through his veins, that's really sad.
I want to tell him it's okay to be proud of who he is.
Caius, I think maybe you got a bit cooler while I was gone...
What do you mean, a bit!?
I've always been cool! You just never realized it!
Ahaha... Is that right?
I seem to remember a certain someone getting locked in our shed and crying...
That was when I was a kid!
And you were the one who locked me in there in the first place!
That's true... We've been together all this time.
But I still doubted you...
I'm sorry, Caius...
Don't worry about it.
But man, if you're apologizing to me, I bet pigs are gonna fly today!
That's just not right.
What's that supposed to mean!?
Now c'mon. We need to head to Sansa.
Thanks, Caius...
That's right.
Even if he's a Leimornean, the Caius I've always known is still right here.
Even if humans are afraid of Lycanth, I'll believe in my friends.
Just like my father believed in Caius' father.
-Caius obtained a new title - Sorta Cool!-
-Rubia obtained a new title - Honest Heart!-

FORTY
The hidden Leimornean village... Say, Forest...
What do you think about moving all of the Leimorneans to Senshibia?
Unlike Aurella, Senshibia wouldn't discriminate against them.
They could live there without having to hide.
Lord Tilkis, your concern is greatly appreciated.
But you must remember - the Leimorneans are a proud people.
They want to live in the land that brought forth both humans and Leimorne.
And moving all of the Leimorneans to Senshibia would mean a substantial migration.
While a few people easily assimilated, a large number of people will inevitably cause problems.
You're making the Senshibians sound like bad guys...
Caius, what Arria is saying is true.
We've seen it countless times throughout history.
You're right... I hadn't thought things through.
I meant no offense, Forest.
I know.

FORTY-ONE - Repeat
The hidden Leimornean village, Sansa, is north of the desert in the Algum Forest.
The village elder knows more about Leimornean culture than anymore.
I wouldn't be surprised if he knew something about the Law of Life.
It sounds like all the answers are waiting at Sansa. Let's get going!

Between Sansa and heading to Laurus
FORTY-TWO
I can't believe Thols is planning to attack Janna...
And at a time like this...
Forest, what is Thols like?
He's a kindhearted man.
He was the one who originally suggested negotiating peacefully with Janna.
Under different circumstances, I would've liked to introduce you all to him...
Why would someone like that want to attack Janna?
Exactly... That alone shows how desperate he must be.
And that's precisely why we have to stop him.
The hatred humans and Leimorneans feel for each other won't vanish overnight.
But we have to do what we can to put a stop to the cycle of hate.
You're right.
If Thols is really a good guy, that's all the more reason we gotta stop him!

FORTY-THREE - Repeat
Laurus is on the west side of the Leimorne Desert, right?
That's right. There should be a harbor there.
I see... It would be easy to infiltrate Janna using a ship from Laurus.
We have to stop him!
Indeed...
What's the sound!?
What's wrong, Forest?
I can hear troops on the move.
They're still a long ways off right now...
?
Are you sure? I can't hear a thing.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's never doubt Forest's hearing.
Can you get a bearing on their location?
I'm sorry, it's hard to say from out current position....
Nonetheless, we should hurry on to Laurus.
-Forest obtained a new title - Sharp Ears!-

Between fighting Albert and returning to Laurus
FORTY-FOUR - Repeat
Albert...
Is Albert's death still weighing heavy on you?
...
No, I'm fine.
I'm sure Albert believed it was his fate to fall there.
You really are strong.
But when you're hurting, it's okay to let it show.
Because I know Albert was important to you...
Tilkis...
Though given my role in all of this, perhaps I have no right to say that...
No, that's not true.
I see...
Yes...
Tilkis... Would you mind if I cried just this one?
Go right ahead, Arria. Cry all you need.
*Hic* Albert... Aaaah...
Auuuuuuuuugh!

Between arriving at Janna and heading to the cathedral
FORTY-FIVE - Repeat
Caius, what's wrong?
We shouldn't be wasting time camping here, we need to go to Janna and confront His Holiness.
I know that.
But if we go to Janna, we might end up having to fight both the Pope and Lukius...
I'm sorry, Caius...
Don't worry about it, Rubia.
Either way, we have to talk to Lukius to get the truth.
Caius, I know this battle will be painful, but we're here with you.
I know, Forest.
We have to prevent the Pope from using the Law of Life no matter what.

Between fighting Lukius and confronting the Pope
FORTY-SIX - Repeat
Guys...
I took down Lukius... My little brother...
Was this really the only way?
Caius...
Caius.
I think Lukius wanted you to be the one to stop him.
There are times you can't change course even when you know you're headed in the wrong direction.
That's why I think Lukius is grateful.
You really think so?
I'm sure that's why Lukius challenged you.
Okay. Then all I can do is see this through.
We have to stop the Pope. That's all I can think about right now!

Between leaving Janna and heading to Adelhabith
FORTY-SEVEN
Do you think Thols is going to be all right back at Janna?
Thols was accompanied by a number of Leimornean warriors.
They won't let a few Spots defeat them.
Caius, imagine a bunch of Forests fighting the Spots. Who do you think would win?
A bunch of Forests...
Team Forest for sure...
You're right.. I shouldn't look down on Thols like that.
We need to go to Adelhabith and find out the truth from Coubert.

FORTY-EIGHT
Arria, you and Albert were childgood friends, right?
What was it like growing up together in Adelhabith?
Rubia, you shouldn't-
It's okay, Tilkis.
I was born in Adelhabith, but Albert moved there from Janna.
There weren't many children there, so we always played together.
I'd say we were a lot like Caius and Rubia.
So, if Rubia is you, does that make me Albert?
That doesn't sit quite right...
I'm sorry.
In reality, you two couldn't be more different.
The biggest difference is Albert's family had been ruined.
That's why his whole family moved from Janna to Adelhabith.
Albert was never able to free himself from that fact.
He was fixated on returning to Janna.
He said he would earn his rank and show all of them.
When he said that, I thought he looked pretty cool.
But looking back now, I realize I was mistaken...
I see... Thanks for telling me about it.
I think I get it.
I should be fine because Caius is so uncool.
What do you mean uncool!?
You're the one who said I got cooler just a little while ago!
I said a bit cooler! A bit!
You were uncool to begin with, so you've still got a long way to go!
Ahaha.
It doesn't look like we have to worry about you two changing...
-Arria obtained a new title - From the Snow Country!-

FORTY-NINE
It sure is cold up north...
Dear Brother, it's so cold... I'm losing feeling in my hands and feet.
Can we snuggle up for warmth? ❤
Rubia, you're going to make Caius mad doing stuff like that...
Hmm? What's wrong?
I'm feeling kinda sleepy... I'm just gonna catch a quick nap.
What's gotten into Caius?
I think I'll join him. I need my rest.
What are you two thinking? Wait... don't tell me-
You don't think they're...
That's exactly what I think, Rubia!
Hmm? What is it?
Leimorneans hibernate in the winter!
......
If that were true, everyone in Sansa would be hibernating...

FIFTY
Do you think the Pope really wanted peace?
I mean, that's what he said, but I wonder if that's really what he wanted.
Personally, I think that is truly what he wanted.
I just think the Spot within him caused him to go about it in the wrong way.
I agree.
I believe the Pope was yet another victim. He was killed by Rommy, after all.
Our true enemy is the one who controlled the Pope.
Is that Coubert?
Based on what His Holiness said when he returned to his senses, I don't think so.
Nonetheless, I think Coubert can help lead us to the true culprit.
Yeah, right now all we can do is try asking him.

FIFTY-ONE - Repeat
Caius, let's hurry to Adelhabith.
Let's take a ship from Janna to Yaska and then hurry toward Northgate.
From Northgate, we head to the northwest to reach Adelhabith.
There was another way to get there too, right?
Leave Sansa to the north and then head due west.
But the route through Northgate will be faster.
Since Rommy ran off with that Patient, we don't have any time to lose.
Indeed. We need to know whatever Coubert knows about the Law of Life.

Between reaching Adelhebith and talking to Coubert
FIFTY-TWO - Repeat
What's wrong, Caius?
Coubert should still be at Adelhabith.
We need to speak to him as soon as possible.
Yeah, I know.

Between Adelhabith and heading to Mount Arel
FIFTY-THREE - Forced
Let's take a quick break.
-
Lord Tilkis, I have something important to discuss.
What is it, Forest? Why so formal?
When we complete our current mission, I wish to retire from my position as your bodyguard.
After everything he's put you through, I can see why...
Dear Brother, you need to think about Forest's feelings.
That's not what I mean.
If we defeat King Aurella, no one will remain to invoke the Law of Life.
As such, the Lycanth Hunt will be meaningless.
In other words, the cause of the rift between humans and Leimorneans will be gone.
Hey, you're right! That's really great new.
However, the long years of systematic discrimination won't disappear overnight.
That's why I want to build trust between Leimorneans and humans.
That's truly a wonderful goal.
Indeed. There's just one problem, Forest.
That sort of outreach requires a considerable organization to support it.
What will you do for personnel and funding?
For personnel, I plan to call on Thols and the others. I have no doubt they'll join me.
Then the issue isn't manpower, but funding...
Forest, given the circumstances...
I'm afraid I can't allow you to leave Senshibia.
You can't be serious!
Senshibia will have to be involved in establishing this organization.
Forest, you will participate as our representative.
Senshibia will take care of funding the entire operation.
Lord Tilkis...
That's great, Forest!
-Tilkis obtained a new title - Sponsor!-

FIFTY-FOUR - Forced
I wonder what Tilkis and Arria are doing...
-
Arria, what are you working on so intently over there?
I'm learning to invoke the Law of Life.
What!?
Based on the remnants of the Pope's room and what Coubert said, I've grasped the basics.
I'm trying to develop the Precepts based on what I do know.
This kind of knowledge can come in handy if bad turns to worst.
Of course, to actually invoke it, I would need Patients.
You've managed to develop it all on your own!? You're beyond brilliant!
By the way, there was something I wanted to ask you...
What is it?
When this battle is over, will you come to Senshibia?
Wha-? What exactly are you asking?
The Spots are still running rampant in Senshibia.
We need people experienced with them to help exterminate them.
If that's all, I'll be glad to assist you.
No, that's not all...
If possible, I'd like you to stay forever... by my side.
But I...
...
I've devoted myself to the service of the Church... And I have much to atone for.
I'm honoured, but I can't...
Oh...
Sorry for asking something like that out of the blue.
But you know, it doesn't have to be right away.
When you finally feel you've atoned for your past, will you reconsider my offer?
I will wait for you always.
Tilkis...

FIFTY-FIVE - Forced
We're almost to Mount Arel. Want to take a break?
-
Caius, Mount Arel is where it all ends, right?
Yeah.
It feels just like yesterday that we left Fern.
It really does.
We've been though a lot, but we're together to the end, huh?
Say, Caius... What are you going to do when this is over?
When it's over?
After we've stopped the Law of Life and stuff.
I really don't know. I've thought a lot about it, but...
All I can come up with is that I want to go on a journey.
There are still so many things I don't know about the world.
That's why I'm going to set out alone and see it for myself.
Alone?
W-What? What's wrong with going alone?
You're going to the seminary, right?
Of course. I mean, why wouldn't I go to the seminary?
You should just go on your little journey and die in a ditch all alone!
Hey! Wait up, Rubia!
What's she upset about this time?
Oh! I get it!
She's mad because I said I'm going alone.
I'm such an idiot... I'll ask her to go with me.

FIFTY-SIX
Why is King Aurella trying to use the Law of Life anyway?
What could be worth all the lost lives?
That is the biggest unknown.
I suspect his motives are unlike any we've heard up until now.
To find the answer, we'll have to go to Mount Arel.
If we allow the Law of Life to be invoked again, I doubt there will be a next time.
Yeah. And I bet Rommy is there too.
That girl is going to pay for what she's done!

FIFTY-SEVEN
You've really bulked up, Caius.
You think so?
I guess maybe you're right.
That just shows how much we're fighting. Both our skills and our bodies have been refined.
Say, Dear Brother...
Do you think I've become more feminine?
What does that have to do with fighting?
I think you've become more feminine, Rubia.
Perhaps your love for Caius was the cause.
Arria, there's nothing going on between Caius and I...
Yeah, I mean... Me and Rubia? Yeah right... Yeah...

FIFTY-EIGHT - Repeat
Can you tell me more about Mount Arel?
Mount Arel is part of the mountain range nestled between Northgate and Eastgate.
The cliffs are incredibly sheer. We have to take extra care to prepare for the journey.
Not only are the Royal Knights there, the monsters on the mountain are no pushovers either.
We have quite a hurdle ahead of us.
Rommy is probably there too. We need to be ready for anything.
We're almost to the finish line, after all.

Between entering Mount Arel and encountering Rommy
FIFTY-NINE - Repeat
Should we really be camping so close to Mount Arel?
That's true. We should hurry and put a stop to the Law of Life.
Slow down there, you two.
We may be short on time, but if we rush in and fail, it's all for nothing.
We need to make every move carefully. Whatever the case, don't let your guard down.
We have a long climb ahead of us.
All right.
I'll rest now so that I can fight with everything I've got!
We just have to hang in there a little longer.

Between defeating Rommy and confronting King Aurella
SIXTY - Repeat
I can't believe Rommy was a Spot.
If it weren't for Lukius, that battle might have been our last.
If she was a Spot, it does help to explain her heartlessness.
If the king invokes the Law of Life, our world might be flooded with Spots like her.
We can't let that happen.
This is it! We have to defeat the king!
I'm counting on you guys!!
